As a Speech therapist\/Audiologist with 45 years of experience in normal and abnormal development in children I saw the need for developing play and read as two essential pillars in development. I also saw that screens, apps and computers are widely seen as methods of stimulating and entertaining children. Alas, research clearly indicates that there is NO substitute for play and books. The human factor involved can not be substituted in another manner. Using toys and books to stimulate, expand and develop specific skills is thus the centre of guidance in this shop. This shop is not only for parents but for carers, grannies and every person that takes\u00a0 the development of young minds seriously. Hence\u00a0 the name: Wisdom through read and play. ‘Reading offers a way to expand knowledge and imagination. The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go’ -Dr Seuss.\u00a0<\/strong> <\/em>Play on the other hand, provides a method for exploring, learning and self discovery of answers. “Play is the beginning of knowledge”- George Dorsey<\/em><\/strong><\/p>
