Wisdom Read and Play
As a Speech therapist/Audiologist with 45 years of experience in normal and abnormal development in children I saw the need for developing play and read as two essential pillars in development. I also saw that screens, apps and computers are widely seen as methods of stimulating and entertaining children. Alas, research clearly indicates that there is NO substitute for play and books. The human factor involved can not be substituted in another manner. Using toys and books to stimulate, expand and develop specific skills is thus the centre of guidance in this shop. This shop is not only for parents but for carers, grannies and every person that takes the development of young minds seriously. Hence the name: Wisdom through read and play. ‘Reading offers a way to expand knowledge and imagination. The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go’ -Dr Seuss. Each item, book, or toy in this shop has a list of skills that will be developed whilst playing or reading and can be used to the benefit of the little mind that you buy it for. I hope you and your ‘little ones’ benefit from the shop.
